What is Pearlshipping DataCore?
Founded in 2014, Pearlshipping DataCore is a BW-XY (Pokémon Black and White - Pokémon XY) perspective look back at the hints for the ship known as Pearlshipping in the Pokémon Diamond and Pearl era. It is a website that is part of a project that aimed to give the most in depth cover and analysis on the ship. While it is no longer updated for the most part, this website remains here as an archive of our activities during that time and who knows! There might be new content relevant to the ship in future.

What is Pearlshipping?
A lot of people will likely have different answers for this question, but in short it is the relationship between the Pokémon protagonists Ash Ketchum (Satoshi) and Dawn (Hikari). SatoHika, the Japanese term for this ship, is a portmanteau of their original names. It can be interpreted platonically or romantically.
Some might also describe Pearlshipping as the act of supporting/ being a fan of the relationship rather than the relationship itself.
Our Vision - Project Pearlshipping
In 2014, Project Pearlshipping was founded on the premise of proving Pearlshipping to be the most superior ship in the Pokeverse - in hindsight (and maturity!) a pointless endeavour.
No one ship is objectively more superior compared to the other, because the measure of how appealing and how good a ship is wholly depends on the person receiving and interpreting the contents of the show.
So, in 2021 our vision is, and should always simply have been, to be a Project that provides insight into Pearlshipping, maybe dissects some hints you might not have thought of before, and most importantly, one that provides an enjoyable community for Pearlshippers - whether you ship it exclusively or not, or even if you completely dislike it. It's simply a place to discuss the ship.

22nd July 2021 Updates
Dawn's Pokemon Journeys cameo
Updates today are to add this new piece of art with Pokemon journeys Ash and Dawn to the site. Really looking forward to her cameo!
Right now, this site means, to me, an archive of some of the things I was proud I achieved and some of the things I was less proud of. Things I CAN say I achieved were- revitalising this ship post DP, and creating regular content for Pearlshippers during a time where canon content was scarce.
